First Time Buyer & Foreign Currency Wages

Hi,

My partner and I are first time buyers with 10% deposit on a 170k house. I earn 25k a year and him 30k, only he is paid in Euros. We are speaking with two mortgage advisors both of which arent filling me with confidence and seem to think this is a difficult case for lenders, still waiting for them to give us any options. Extra info: Our deposit was gifted, but both of our credit scores are good (my partners excellent).

Anyone got any experience in getting a 90% LTV mortgage when one applicant is paid in foreign currency?

It did become a lot more difficult around 2 years ago.
There are a couple of lenders who will do it, some will only do it in certain curcumstances - ie if you work for well known companies.

See what the brokers come back with, a little research and they may find a home for it.

A friend of mine is in a similar situation. Her partner gets paid in dollars. They have been declined twice because of this. The change in law a couple of years ago it has been extremely difficult to obtain a mortgage when you wage is in another currency.

I hope this isn't the case for you, good luck!
