Unknown CCJ

Hello there ladies and gentlemen, I am in desperate need of some advice.

I recently checked my credit report and discovered it had dropped because of a CCJ. This was to my complete surprise. I have not had any correspondence at all from anyone regarding a court date/judgement.

The amount is for 259.00, I rang the only company I though I may money to, and that was Virgin, I owed them 170.00 for an early cancellation. I've paid that and cannot think what this CCJ is from. It was issued on the 20th of April, I want to sort it out quickly to have it stricken from my record.

Who do I contact to find out who I need to pay? I have done a trustonline search and this only gives me a reference number and the amount of the judgement. I've tried searching for a number of someone I could call with no success.

I would appreciate any help that could be given.

Kyle

Call the court which issued it and quote the reference number; then they will be able to give you the details. In those cases it usually is someone you've forgotten to supply with the address when moving, so did you move in recent months/years?

The thing is, I've no idea which court to call. Is there a general one I can call who will refer me to the specific court, I've moved around alot lately, so I don't know where to start.

When you search the trust online (https://www.trustonline.org.uk/index.php/search-yourself) it gives out case reference and details of court where the judgment was given. Then google said court and you will find their phone number, they can guide you from there.

Most likely be Northampton bulk centre.

You won't get it removed though.

It should say which court issued it on your credit report.

I believe you are correct, seems to be the Northampton Bulk Centre.

Regarding its removal, supposedly if it is settled within a month of issue you can request its removal?

Once you know who took Court action, then it might jog your memory.
If it is a debt you truly have no knowledge of, you could talk to the creditor and ask if they could shed some light on it.

It might be that someone has stolen your ID and has used it to obtain credit in your name.
