Do loans ask if you have a mortgage?
Comments

They almost always ask, but as for chances, we don't know as the criteria are a well-guarded secret. Although 15-20k personal loan, in general, is very high.0

They will know whether you have a mortgage, and the application form will ask about all finance you have and they check that with your credit file to ensure you dont tell porkies lol.The instructions on the box said 'Requires Windows 7 or better'. So I installed LINUX

Hi thanks does this have any affect on my existing mortgage?
Only if you need to re-mortgage.
Otherwise no, you've signed the contract on your mortgage, you pay the monthly payments, nothing changes. Having a 20k debt before applying for a mortgage may well have got you into bother, but once the deal is done? Nope. It'll affect your chances of getting a 20k loan however if the lender fails you on affordability.

They will know whether you have a mortgage and you need to disclose it. It may affect how much you can borrow on a personal loan if you fail the affordability check though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
