Using a train ticket from a different station

Just a quick one. I have purchased an anytime return train ticket from Banbury to London. I am now going to be coming home from High Wycombe, it's on the same train line and the train I would have caught from London stops there so can I use the ticket to get back to Banbury from High Wycombe or will I need to buy a new return ticket?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Should be okay but you'd need to check the restrictions on the ticket to be sure.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

If your ticket says something like "Any route" - I can't remember the exact words - yes no problem. You can get off and back on at any station it stops at.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

Thank you for the responses. That website was very helpful. Looks like it shouldn't be a problem.
