I'll have a look at making extra payments to the loans, I was led to believe the penalties would make it negligible but definitely worth checking.
If I carry on as I am I'll be debt-free in under 5 years but I'd definitely like to do better if I can and absolutely change my ways so I don't charge anything else!
Sorry to hear about your allergies, food restrictions are so annoying.
Hope you're having a good day!
Sounds like you're on the right track
No need to be sorry about my allergies. I'm just a pita to cater for :
If I smell an onion , I will throw up . Garlic etc the same . If you put a salad infront of me I walk away. Bizarre . I was force fed at school with cold lumpy mash and salad . My mum pinned the priest against the wall, but it was a ' dinner lady' . If my mum found her ..
If I could eat the same as others , it would be a step nearer to making me normal :rotfl:
My day is okay
Good luck on your debt free mission0 -

I'm not quite sure I understand the question. Do you mean why don't I use the free version of Spotify? If so, it's because I can listen offline when I don't have internet. It's much cheaper than buying individual tracks or albums.0 -
Yesterday, I did a bit of unnecessary spending. It's so helpful to see it laid out in a spreadsheet (I've got YNAB but need to do some of the training before I enter all my deets) and be able to analyse it.
£1.90 sausage and eggs for breakfast from work cafe
I know most people here frown on those who don't prepare their own food but cooking eggs and sausage, washing all the pans and plates and cutlery, and losing sleep to do it before I get to the office are worth the money to me. Prepared food is one of those things that makes disabled life a tad easier.
£13.04 memory foam pillow from TKMaxx
Zero regrets about this purchase. I've been looking for a high quality, solid memory foam pillow with a washable cover for awhile. I use them pretty much everywhere - bed, work seat, trains, tubes, elevating legs a wee bit - and this was an amazing price. Very happy.
£4.73 travel shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a can of Coke Zero from Boots
I'm giving up the Coke Zero (my dentist will be thrilled!) and I just realised in future I can refill the travel bottles and use them again. They're pretty sturdy, I'd just never though of it before.
This is great cause I use travel sizes a lot to lower the weight of bags whether I'm travelling by plane or not.
£8.54 dinner stuff from Tesco
Definitely didn't need to do this but I haven't put together a meal plan. That'll be on the cards for Friday evening so I can do a proper shop on Saturday. I'm going to limit myself to food shopping twice a week and I think that will help curb the little bits and pieces that pile up.
It's good to see where I'm going wrong in black and white and be able to think of solutions that will make things easier.
For work lunches I'm happy to have soup and veggies and cheese or cold meats. That kind of thing doesn't involve much effort and is cheaper if I buy in one go. Breakfast I'm happy to pay for at the moment as it's good to start the day with something decent and low-carb rules out most breakfast options.
Definitely room for improvement but I'm excited to make those changes.0 -
Happy Fri-yay!
I'm excited for some free time this weekend so I can do some planning. I'm going to print out last month's statement and have a nosey, and make a meal plan for next week.0 -
Hi Belle
I have no doubt at all that you'll be able to crack on with these debts and get yourself sorted. Sorry to hear you've been unwell but a diagnosis is definitely a big step in the right direction.
Do either of your flatmates use Netflix as well? If one of you upgrades to the £7.99 version you could probably split the bill between 2-3 people which might save a couple of quid. Just an idea
