Credit card statements

When applying for a re-mortgage does the lender ask just for 3 months bank statements or do they also ask for 3 months of all credit card statements?

Thanks for the help, never had a mortgage before and trying to get finance in order as thinking of applying in August

Quite scary stuff!

I've never known them ask for credit card statements. They can check your credit file to get any relevant information regarding credit card use and other debts.

Bank statements are a good way for them to verify your income.

Are you querying for a brand new mortgage or a re-mortgage? was not clear from the post so I was not sure. I'd imagine would be similar requirements but it may vary.

I've only obtained a mortgage, not gone through re-mortgage yet:
Remember they will see any payments you are making to credit cards from your bank accounts. You'll probably also need to complete some form of income/expenditure summary including how much you pay each month on any debt payments (cc/loan etc.) which would broadly need to align with what you prove on bank ac.

I had to provide current account and savings account statements (and would have had to include business account had I had it back then). But not cc statements.

I know it varies by company but not known anyone having to provide cc statements as yet

Regarding business bank statements where they for sole trader or limited company? I am a director of a limited company. Would they ask for bank statements of the limited company or only personal bank statements?

    Thanks

I can only speak for experience with new mortgages and it will vary by each company but you would likely have to provide business accounts for limited company because it's how you prove your income. SOME may take it just from your personal but mine wanted both and I know of quite a few others who have had to provide both personal bank statements and business bank statements to prove income. Especially if you don't have a regular salary. E.g. lots of limited company directors only pay a base rate or a lower salary and other income in forms of dividends etc. So Personal bank account would not be enough to prove income.

Cannot guarantee of course, will likely vary, but from those I've had experience with, friends in same position & advice I've had along the way. I presume remortgaging with new companies would be the same but perhaps others have had experience and could advise..

Again only speaking from the perspective of being director of limited company where the limited company is where your main income comes from. Appreciate this may not be your situation. I'm not sure what the case would be for a sole trader.

    Hope this helps a little...
