Forgotten rail card
Comments

All rail operators would have a low/high penalty so figures quoted are based on that but the criminal record is the main thing to think about
Really you get a criminal record for genuinely forgetting your rail card?
I would be suprised at that.
Btw - I was not intending criminal OR immoral behaviour (strange how some posters go down that route) merely asking because with prescriptions you can pay and claim back if you forget your card so I merely wondering whether something similar existed.
It appears not which is harsh but I'm ok with that, just wanted to understand the rules.
For those who are determined to think the worst I will say again I paid the CORRECT FARE.
Thanks for the info but I'm off.0 -

Your question was...
What's the penalty for travelling intentionally without a valid ticket?
Hence my reply as to a fine plus poss criminal record if caught
Your second question based on forgetting your card is a poss £100 + depending on if it went to court.
I do not believe from what you have said that you tried to travel without paying the correct fare and IMO far better than many who claim otherwise and get caught.
Final check before closing a front door { keys / money / phone / railcard}problem solved:)0
