Using up wool

The thread below about knitting has inspired me to take it up again. Returning to my long neglected knitting basket I found 150g of soft DK Rowan wool that I'd really like to use. It's a lovely soft moss colour.
Does anyone have any ideas or patterns that would use this up usefully? DS3 is 4 so I could possibly make a hat or scarf for him or something.

Another idea, Innocent are rasing money for Age Concern by getting as many people as possible to knit little hats to put on their drinks bottles in the run up to Christmas - details here:

Thanks, I was going to suggest that myself! I love seeing the little hats on innocent bottles, and there are some really creative ones.I would have a go, but my hands are full with making Xmas cards... and when I knit it looks like a ragged, stretched-out old cardie as I have to unpick my mistakes so often

Thanks for these. I got a good pattern from the free patterns site in the end.
I may do the smoothie tops to use up old wool, but I didn't want to give away my Rowan wool, it's too nice!0 -
I agree with you, conradmum, but the little hats really only use a few feet of wool, so it you have an oddment left after making the garment proper...
I'm no good at the 'character' hats, myself, so I just do plain ones or stripes or interesting fluffy wool if I have any.0 -
