will this effect my credit report

Morning all,

My wife has just informed she used confused.com to run a car finance quote,

im worried this will have an effect on the mortage if they check before they send the payment.

could anyone confirm if this will appear on my report? or will it be a soft search and have nothing to worry about?

won't affect one bit, it is loans you worry about

sorry morning blues, hmmm it might come up as a soft search in that case, have you checked your credit file? in any case what's done is done. Usually shouldn't be a problem as long as you haven't done lots of finance quotes with your details


But generally no new finance until completion

yeah i wasnt too happy when she said it!

but said it was a quote on cinfused not an application, how long does it normaly take to show on file?

If you get just the quotes, it won't have any impact on your credit score and would just be a soft search not seen by the other lenders.

However if you apply for it, then it becomes a hard search which could affect your credit score and may be seen by the others

If it makes you feel any better i've had to do them and we are right at the critical stage. I didn't even want to pay monthly but it still shows as such on my file. Its a common sense thing (i hope) you need to search for the best car insurance and naturally this may show a soft search but these shouldn't be seen by lenders. And if the underwriters question it my response will simply be that i had to sort out my car insurance but its an annual cost that was already factored into my fact find. Try not to worry, i don't think it should be the end of the world!
