More job shares would be good for the employee but if an employer deems senior roles to be one role total then that should be their perogative.Fireflyaway wrote: »Thanks so much everyone. To clarify I'm currently still working part time but applying for full time posts to try and get back in the ring so to speak. Regarding the CIPD its has hasn't helped. Every HR job I apply for tells me I lack the practical experience or I just don't hear back at all. I'm applying for entry level stuff on lower pay than I'm on now, so not being unrealistic.
We're getting into the realm of the gender pay gap now but if you're applying for lower jobs than you're on now and not even getting interviews then you need to fluff up your CV a bit more! I hope you're not telling people you're working part time on it?Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

I already know the answer, but it would be interesting to see what you make of the dataset/other datasets (and how it can show that a significant portion of women in PT employment are looking after a child, or have a characteristic which can be discriminated against!).0 -

Which CIPD qualification did you get?
Were you doing an HR role at the time?
Did you become a Member?
Are you attending CIPD branch events?0 -

I don't want to carry on with my existing company even if re was a full time role there. I really want to leave. There is no room for progression and I am started to dislike what goes on.
My CIPD is level 3 in human resource practice. I didn't do level 5 as was told it was pointless unless already working in HR. Yes CIPD member. Haven't attended meetings. Did it at the local college. It was an interesting course but hasn't got me anywhere and cost £1200. Sort of wishing I didn't bother. My current role has HR elements but I'm working with volunteers which I think confuses people / is off putting.
I think my CV is OK but hard to tell. I've had 3 interviews in about 3 months of looking which doesn't seem great but could be worse. I do hold out hope that once I'm back full time I might be able to work up the ladder a bit. Its just that first step!0 -
I would say 3 interviews in 3 months is actually alright. You're getting into the correct positions so concentrate on your answers, make sure you are polished in the standard responses etc.Fireflyaway wrote: »Thanks guys.
