Voluntary Termination of Car Finance

I am going to be voluntary terminating the finance on my current car as it's becoming too costly to repair all the time. It's a 7 year old car and I have paid more than 50% of the total agreement value.

My question is, when I purchased the car there was a scuff on the front bumper and some scratches and small dents down the side of the car. How do I ensure that the finance company don't try and pin this on me, as the damage was pre-existing, and presumably why when I purchased the car, it was considerably cheaper than the alternatives?

I wouldn't worry too much, a 7 year old car is going to have marks on it

As far as I recall, the dents etc weren't noted but I'm going to have a hunt for the paperwork this weekend. My wife thinks we have the photos that were on autotrader on her old laptop at home so going to look at that tonight as well.

Good point about the photos from AT.
