Does anyone win the magazines like take a break these days?

I used to be a comper and would enter things like all the take a break, real people etc magazines but then found so many new people got into comping I found prizes really dried up and I went from winning every couple of months to nothing in over a year and gave up. 18 months on I'm wondering how things are now? I know they give the prizes away but wondered what people's experiences were
Best wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card

hi, I often get pm's from peeps on the comps boards
on MSE & another comp site I post the TAB/That's Life!/Bella
etc mags on to thank for prizes they've won from the postings,
as always it's just a case of the luck of the draw & to keep entering,
    fingers crossed for you x

More people can now potentially win with Take a Break since they reduced the value of some of the prizes but increased the number of them a couple of months ago

    (80 x £25 instead of 40 x £50, 10 x £100 instead of 1 x £1,000 etc)

but in most cases there are more people chasing the same (or fewer) prizes. The paid circulation of all the women's magazines has pretty much been dropping for years so at some point more titles will fold and/or the total prize value will reduce so it will just get harder to win.

My old mum used to LOVE doing her comping, sitting there with the magazine and a pen, then posting off the entries - it was her little outing and exercise to walk 50 yards to the post box and back - made her feel she'd "got out of the house" and gave a structure to her week.

She used to regularly win prizes.... but then more and more was done online and people were sharing answers online to people who didn't even have the magazine - and the prizes stopped coming.

The stories used to be tame too. My old mum's magazines might headline with "We lost our dog on holiday, but he came back" or similar tame subjects. In the latter years I'd be horrified to visit my mum and see a stack of magazines on the floor with bold headlines like "My babysitter raped the dog and made my kids watch" or "My ex stalked us, set fire to the house and the whole family died".... stories were simply no longer "reasonable".... but horrifying!

The fact some people win and some don't really makes no difference to your chances of winning.

Someone had been entering these for years and won nothing, going by that a friend would not have bothered having ago but they did anyway and within months had won £1000 followed a few weeks later by £100 and other wins since, it's just the luck of the draw.

I've had a few nice wins from these type of magazine comps. My last, and best so far, was a few months ago when I won £1000 with "this life" - thanks Firefly for posting.
