I Want advice Home Cinema?

The stereo has just packed up, and I am thinking.....why bother?

We have digital TV, so can pick up radio, and have a Panny HD recorder on which we can play CDs. So the only thing is....the sound. We have a new Panny LXD70, and the sound is good, but I wonder about seperate speakers.

Now I am in unknown territory. Sites seem to have systems, but they talk about Amps, Receivers and all sorts. Presumably, I can't just plug speakers in to the back somewhere and they will work?

If not, what do i want please, and can I get it sub £250.

Hello there! I don't no much about this sound malarky...but the sound set up I have is I A/V receiver which in turn has 6 seperate speakers plugged in (for 6.1 sound) and a sub woofer plugged in too. I have the dvd player and the playstation going through the A/V...the playstation is linked by an optical cable. I would like to have the cable box linked too, so I would be able to get the cable TV through the A/V but the cable box is mega basic so could do with an upgrade really...one day when I is rich! You can get radio through the A/V too, which is a bonus! Hope this helps! Luv the kebabmeister xxx
