looking for a small one amd undersied if a half one or a full one is best, or even if it is a good idea at all. i live in a 3rd floor flat.

Rather depends on how big your balcony is and how you are going to fix it down.
One tiny point - check your lease/tenancy agreement to see if you are allowed to put a parasol on your balcony. Quite often you can't.0 -

I bought a small parasol that clips onto a chair or balcony rail when I moved into my current home a couple of years ago. It's about the size of a large umbrella I'd say. I got it from a local hardware shop & was only about £7-£8. Try looking somewhere like Wilkinson's or Robert Dyas to see if they have anything similarThe bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
