Parking charge notice from smart parking.

Hi there, looking for some help with this as I have already revealed I was the driver. Ok, on Easter Monday I parked in the Kinnoull Street multi storey car park in Perth. I read a sign saying you could pay on exit which I intended to do. When exiting there is no barrier and a scribbled note saying machines in stairwell. I paid via the ring go app but due to a bad signal I hadn't realised I'd used them before for another car park in Glasgow and used the wrong location however I only realised after paying. I contacted ring go who said nothing they can do and contact Perth council. Contacted them they said contact smart parking. I paid again for parking via the ring go website on Friday last week to cover my stay for the Monday and let them know via email. They replied saying I have to appeal. Have received the letter today and not sure what to do really as they know I was the driver. Any help appreciated.

What a shame you appealed at all. In Scotland only the driver can be held liable, so if the scammers don't know the driver's identity, they are stuffed.
The correct advice for private parking tickets is Scotland is to ignore anything and everything except the extremely unlikely receipt of court papers.
There is no second stage appeal available in Scotland as the POFA 2012 does not exist. All you can do now is wait to see if you get real court papers. This is very unlikely as Not so Smart have never done court anywhere, and parking scammers have a huge uphill struggle in Scotland anyway.
You can safely ignore debt collectors. The NEWBIES sticky thread (which you should read for future reference anyway) explains why.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
Scotland - Ignore the bams and their fake debt collectors.

Yeah I read the newbies stuff for Scotland but as I said they already know I was the driver. I'll just wait it out and see what happens or should I appeal reiterating what happened?0

Ignore them from now on and come back if they try a claim; we see success with 99% of defences here.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
