Moving Abroad and Changing Mortgage to Buy to Let

I am currently in the process of moving overseas and am looking to change my Mortgage to a Buy to Let one, but am experiencing a few issues as my current lender won't support this type of Mortgage.

Does anyone have any experience of this, or knowledge of lenders who will give expats mortgages? We have a good degree of capital currently in the house (roughly 25% is mortgaged on a £1.3 million house) and want to free up some of this to buy abroad.

Hi, have recently had 3 expat mortgages, where two clients currently live abroad and wanted to remortgage to BTL, while the third one was moving abroad for work and changed for that reason. It can be done, but indeed not every lender will be able to help. As a broker myself, I can't name lenders here, but if you speak to a broker, they should be able to do their research based on your details and advise you as appropriate.
