Mortgage application

Hi All,

Question for you. My wife and I are about to apply for a mortgage to move house. We both own property that we are going to sell, they both have equity in them and both mortgages are up to date with no missed payments. Credit cards, 3 between us are kept clear. My credit rating with Experian is 987 as of today.

The problem is I had money trouble in the past. I had multiple defaults and a CCJ. All of this debt is paid off and all of these defaults etc have cleared from my credit file. I have also used pay day loans in the past but not for at least 12 months or more. Do have any chance of getting a mortgage or will I simply be rejected?

Yes, but not every lender will accept the pay day loans. So get the right lender and you should be fine.

  • Ok, thank you.....probably a silly question but any suggestions on who those lenders might be?

Were not allowed to name lenders on here. You can look at lenders criteria online. If unsure grab a broker.
