Hi all,
sorted my house woo.

I have to choose between HSBC / BARCLAYS / Metro for my mortgage due to the product type I need (joint / single ownership)

Who would you choose and why?

To me, the difference seems like splitting hairs at the moment.

I have read previously bad reviews on this site on HSBC in particular!

TIA,
Grace

My experience of Barclays is either very good (if you are employed and bank with them) or very bad.
I like Metro, I have used them a few times and they appear to be getting better and better.
HSBC do not deal with brokers so I have no experience with them.

Did you narrow it down to these 3 lenders? If you did (as condescending as it sounds) well done. Not the easiest job to find lenders who will do this, there is another I know of but rate wise will not compete with these.

    Yes they do.
Sorry old habits die hard. Historically they have never dealt with mortgages. They do now, but only a very small number.

ACG - Ha none taken, I've done a fair bit of reading and I found out through this site about HSBC did it then the solicitor I'm using, SAM Conveyancing had an initial chat with me and recommend Barclays and Metro.

So tricky as people have had such mixed experiences. Interested to explore Metro perhaps.
