A mule is the offspring of a male donkey/female horse. Male mules are always infertile. Female mules can give birth to foals after mating with a horse or donkey - there are verified cases but it is very rare. A donkey/mule cross is a Jule or Donkule, a horse/mule cross is a Hule. I don't know if they want "no such thing", "foal", "Jule", "Donkule" or "Hule" as the answer.
