Mortgage AIP decision - referred?

What gives?
I'm an existing mortgage customer of a Building Society. I owe £110k and am overpaying about £300 pcm.
We have no overdraft, no outstanding loans or finance of any kind, no credit card debt, nothing whatsoever. Never been refused credit, never defaulted, missed a payment, no defaults, bankruptcy, nothing. ever.
Just sold our house for £295k, buying one for £275k. I applied for a mortgage "transfer request" and AIP for the amount of £100k.
The Credit Check decision was...Refer. I'm a bit surprised!!

Dont worry about it. My experience is most refers do go through. You have very little credit history for lenders to work off and so the computer has referred it for a person to make the decision. If it gets declined I would be surprised.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thank you for replying so quickly
I've been advised to call back in a couple of days. The only thing I can think of that may be vaguely related is some recent work-related checks (going to do contract work for an investment bank). This includes ID, Right to Work, CRB, Directorships (Haha!), and Credit Check - all of which were passed. 0
