Does anybody do this please?
If so, what's it like?
What are the rewards like, are their any vouchers?
Do you just scan the barcodes or do you have to input more?

Do you mean shop and scan? That is run by Nielson
If so the scanning is very easy and you can photograph receipts for a bit extra.
Its about £1.60 a week and they offer diaries to complete about 4 times a year which are for more.
They do have a good choice of rewards ,I only choose Amazon vouchers so I don't pay attention to the others.0 -
Hi culpepper, thanks for the reply. This is for a different panel to shop and scan run by their competitors. I'm just unsure what the rewards or time required is like.0

I think Kantar run Shopandscan whilst Nielsen have a rival scheme0 -
I signed up with them around 2 years ago. I received all the equipment and it is very easy to install and use. They provide a splitter for your phone line (think that's what it's called) because they require it to be permanently plugged into your phone line so that they can dial in once a week to retrieve the data.
Unfortunately for me this is where the problem was. It interfered with my phone line. My phone would only ring once if a call was coming through and then when I did use the phone there was a lot of interference on the line, clicking noises & it affected the volume both on my end and the other end, we could barely hear each other talking! I did speak to Nielsen about this & they had 2 alternatives, one being to unplug the phone during the week (which they weren't particularly happy about) then plug it in overnight on the weekly day that they did the dial in, which I think was a Saturday night but can't remember now. The problem with this was I kept forgetting.
The second option was a different type of scanner that used a SIM card that they provided. This was no good for me because where I live we do not get mobile signal. I did explain this to the person I spoke to but they said they did a check & it came back fine, so they sent it to me, I set it up and lo & behold it didn't work because there was no signal.
Unfortunately because of all this fuss I had to contact Nielsen and cancel my account. Shame really because it was relatively easy to use and would have been great for me to earn a few rewards, but Nielsen just couldn't help in the end.0 -
