How long? Clearing finance & applying for agreement in principal

My husband and I are clearing our car finance with savings so that we can get a higher mortgage. If we (for example) paid the finance off on Monday when would we be able to get our agreement in principal done leaving enough time for the finance to have cleared?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Sarah.

There is no set timeframe.
Most lenders will ask about debt and whether it will be cleared before completion takes place or not. Some will include the debt if it is showing, even if your plan is to clear before completion.
Get the right lender and you should be fine even if you do not clear the debt until 1 day before your mortgage completes.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
