Bank Of Ireland UK Mortgages

Hello

Just wondering if anyone on here has any experience with the Bank of Ireland. Currently waiting for an offer following the property valuation and wondering if anyone had any experience on how long it took them?

I've gone via a broker who at the minute don't seem to be telling me anything at all or giving me any estimated time frames.

Just wondering what other users experiences are?

Thanks

I find buy to let underwriting quite strict. They take each case and then they will do a full assessment when everything has been received, whilst referring to other departments as well. Sometimes can be 1-2 weeks once everything is done before you get an offer.

    Hi Tom

Its a standard First Time Buyers mortgage not buy to let.

Either way still not heard anything and I am becoming increasingly annoyed with the promise of phone calls from the broker which are not arriving.

    Thanks

What timescales are you talking so far?
We got a DIP on 24th March, made full application on 27th March - valuation instructed on 29th March. Once the valuation was completed we had an offer in 48 hours and everything arrived in the post. No complaints.

    Hi

The valuation was on Thursday obviously they don't work weekends but was wondering if it's likely to be Monday as solicitors are putting pressure on as the sellers want to exchange contracts.

The broker is providing me with little information cannot even confirm if the valuation went ahead which is a little frustrating.

Just wanted an idea of when I'm likely to hear back. If you were 48 hours from valuation i can only hope it will be Monday

    Thanks for your feedback :D

Your broker will probably have no update for you now until the mortgage is offered. I rang the estate agent to get in touch with the seller to determine when our valuation was complete. You should hear something Monday/Tuesday I'm sure.

Have you applied through the Post Office? If so they have a service update page which tells you which cases they are working on.

Unfortunately the broker have provided hardly any updates and I won't be using them again recommended or not by this website.

Fingers crossed I hear Monday! It's the most nerve racking wait ever.

It was direct with BOI not via Post Office.

I am currently also applying for a mortgage with BOI and awaiting the full application to be submitted as i also have a poor broker... however, my estate agents are the ones that have been able to confirm most things rather than the broker as i have had a survey on it independently and checked with them at every stage, might be an idea to speak to them?
also how soon after applying did you get a date for your valuation? as my seller is pushing for this to start moving as am i!

    Hey

I arranged the survey via BOI and took there upgraded one. I managed to get in touch with the survey company who filled me in with the results over the phone today which was nice of them

Luckily no major problems thankfully and the valuation was sent to BOI on Thursday

Sadly the broker i am using is useless I'll make sure when it comes to a remortgage i do it myself.

The valuation was done with the survey from BOI and it took a week from application to the surveyor going to the property which was this Thursday.

They seemed to sort of the survey very fast but relying on the broker to tell me if they have fed anything back to them or require ant other documents etc is my concern at the minute!

I don't even think my broker has done our AIP correctly as i have no hard or soft searches against ANY of my credit files all of which updated in the last few days... however my partner has two which would be right. SO annoyed with the whole bloody thing. Teaches me that not paying for a broker was a bad idea!

I'm in the same situation! Mind me asking which broker you used?

    Was it L & C?
