Halifax mortgage application multiple credit footprint

My broker submitted a full mortgage application to Halifax, I subsequently downloaded a copy of my Experian credit report and it showed 5 searches from Halifax on the date of application. The first had a 'negative impact' presumably as it's was a hard search?

Is there any reason for 5 searches or anything it might highlight?

  • Were all of them hard searches? Because in my experience Halifax does a soft search for DIP. They gave me two of them one just for myself and one with my husband. I would believe so just one should be a hard search when you make a full application. Otherwise they do a soft search which does not affect your score
Home buying yet again!! Fingers crossed!!

Had a similar thing with Halifax too recently.

Following AIP and then an informal meeting several searches including one hard one were done by them and BOS.

They never did another hard search though and formal mortgage offer received this morning.

I think one was, the rest weren't? One said ' negative impact' the others said ' no impact'

This was in addition to the AIP search

I just thought it odd that 5 in one day

    Congratulations!

I'd be interested to hear how long the process took from full application, to survey, to offer?

Full application to offer was about 4 weeks.

However, we lost loads of time due to our MA going on holiday, Easter, her just being really busy and questions from the underwriters.

Things moved super fast last week though, once the underwriters had requested valuation survey (Tuesday) which was done Friday at 15:00 we had full formal mortgage offer by 10:00 Saturday morning.
