Bodybuilding supplements / liquid creatine

Hello. First of all, I am by no means a 'bodybuilder' in the strictest sense. But I do a lot of weight training with the aim of increasing muscle mass. Generally I know what I am doing, but I'm don't train to the extreme or within an inch of my life to get that "perfect body"!

I have lightly dabbled in supplements in the past, but generally, nowadays, don't take anything to supplement my training except for whey protein shakes and creatine. Generally, my diet is well balanced and I get the right amount of calories and nutrition macros are tuned well. I really only have the protein shakes for the convenience of not having to carry loads of food around with me all day.

As for creatine, I have always tried to use the liquid creatine serums around. I found these work the best for me, and I like that they don't require any loading and can be absorbed by the body easier than powders and tablets.

Moreover, I have a personal trainer who I've worked with on and off for the past four years who always tells me that a lot of supplements are a waste of money, and the best thing to do is make sure the diet is correct. I'm inclined to agree with him. But he always says that creatine is a good supplement to use but if using it then to have the liquid kind, due to the ease of absorption, as the solid form doesn't store in the body and just passes out the bowels after ingestion!!

I'm finding it increasingly difficult to buy liquid creatine anywhere anymore. GNC used to, but not anymore. Bodybuilding.com used to, but not anymore. I found another brand online about 4 months ago, which I used and liked, but now that is unavailable too. They all seem to be impossible to get now. I'm at a loss because I don't know what to use anymore. Does anybody have any advice or suggestions? Or any other supplements deemed to not be a waste of money that anyone can recommend?

Thanks.

  • Not that I use creatine, but even just a simple search online for liquid creatine has provided several results.

Agree that nutrition is far more important than supps.

In my experience, the majority of the search results don't point to legitimate online retailers, or will tell you at the checkout that the product is unavailable or has a ridiculously long delivery time (several weeks or months, in some cases).

Anything else from someone who does use creatine?
  • You probably want a more niche website. MSE doesnt have much traffic on the exercise front, and I bet only a few small part of that has even tried creatine.

Surely in London you could find a non chain supps store to call up? Even if the owner didnt sell liquid they could give you a contact who can.

I just use regular creatine monohydrate, there's no need to use fancy expensive stuff. I buy a tub for £5. You don't need to load it either I just take 5g per day. Everything but the regular stuff is a waste of money
