NatWest mortgage application

I am currently applying for a NatWest mortgage via a broker. The broker has just informed us that surveyor will be carrying a survey(on the property we are hoping to purchase) on Monday - is this a good sign? Would they bother with a survey if they didn't think our appplication was going to be successful, finding this very stressful!! Very different to when we brought our current house 11 years ago !

Sounds pretty good to me. For purchases they instruct after initial assessment which is pretty sharpish at the minute (within around 24 hours).I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Ours was approved subject to valuation very speedily. Unfortunately they must have a shortage of surveyors in our area as we have over a week to wait for that!0

Natwest do whats called a day 1 valuation so will have a look at your case as a whole and assess the plausibility of it and if it is deemed ok they will instruct the valuation. It will then still need to fully assessed and looked at by underwriters.I am a Mortgage & Protection Broker
