Carpet

My mum wants to buy a new carpet for her hall and living room. She went to Carpetright and was given a quote. I don't know why, but I find that shop a bit 'odd'. There's ALWAYS a sale on and the underlay was more expensive than the carpet!!
Any other chains that people can suggest please? Or stores in London.
Thanks.

No need for any chains.
London will have plenty of smaller independent carpet retailers.0 -

Yes, but it's knowing which one is good! We used to have Streetlife to ask these things, but alas that is no more.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

Find a few, go and visit and have a conversation with the owners!0

asking the owners of a carpet shop is hardly a recommendation IMO as they are not going to say they are crap and over priced or that they fitted a carpet badly are they?
That's why Streetlife was good, you could ask and people would tell you what they thought after their own experiences.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”
