i made last years receipe but can't find it any where it was the best I've made - does anyone still have a copy they can let me havethe receipe from please?

Have you tried doing a search on the prima website also i thnk they have a forum too so you may get better luck on there with other prima readers

Was it this one?

450g/1lb luxury mixed fruit
200g tub glace cherries
200g tub glace ginger
125g/4oz raisins
100ml/3 1/2 floz brandy
same of port
juice of 1 orange
225g/8oz butter
225g/8oz dark molasses sugar
4 large eggs, beaten
225g/8oz S/R flour
2tsp mixed spice
1tsp ground cinnamon
pinch salt
50g/2oz chopped hazelnuts

Soak fruit, cherries, ginger and raisins in brandy, port & orange juice overnight.
In a bowl cream butter & sugar. Add eggs little at a time, with a little flour if looks like curdling. Add rest of flour, spices and salt. Tip in soaked fruit and mix well.
Pour into tin 8" x 3" deep and place in oven gas 2/150C for 3hrs.

It sounds good I might try it any way

yes it was great thanks - your a star - off to start soaking the fruit now wheres the brandy.....

Hi I wonder if you can help me? I'm looking for a christmas cake recipe also from Prima but from about 1993? It was part of a collection of traditional cakes and also included Devils food cake and Dundee cake.I think this cake had brasil nuts in it. Prima also did a series of Quick and easy cakes and Jane Asher cakes. My husband was clearing out mags and threw this copy of Prima out!
