  • Morning chums, hope you're all well this Wednesday morning,

Skipped the gym this morning as I think I'm still catching up on sleep from the weekend. Football tonight which will make up for that though.

Talks began yesterday of moving my move-in date forward to 16th May. Very exciting. I've got in touch with my solicitors and mortgage broker to get the ball rolling.

Woke with quite a bad coldsore! Was there not some miracle home remedy mentioned on here before? I can't remember for the life of me what it was.

Gers - That sounds like it could be the premise for a horror movie!
Hester - Glad you arrived safely. Hopefully the jetty is sorted soon.

    Morning all

Nice bright day here again we have been very lucky with the weather this week.

OH and I finished doing the logs yesterday we think there are about 6 loads there which we are hoping will get us right through next winter, I must say I ache though, obviously used different muscles, its a good feeling knowing its all done though.

Today I want to go to home sense and see if they have a large clock ours has died and whilst watching a horror film the other day one on the hands fell off and landed in a candle :rotfl: so will go and see what they've got, if poss I would also like to pop into a garden centre to have a look at the plants.

There is a lot of stuff to go to the tip but we need to borrow a truck to get it there which will have to be at the weekend.

OH might put the new table up today too.

Specky are you thinking of the pineapple for mouth ulcers ? it may help your cold sore too!! Do you have a Boots the chemist near you ? If so pop in and ask for some cold sore liquid, it comes in a tiny bottle and is a clear liquid but it works wonders if you keep dabbing it on.

Right have good days all xx

Hi chums a quick peep over the wall to see how you all are doing the sun is shining but its still a bit of a nippy wind at the moment .

Sorted out all my packing for my trip to the north on Friday, hope the weather keeps fine. I have to take my car in for a service and an MOT this afternoon, but the garage is very customer friendly, and you get decent coffee on tap so I will take my book and some ginger nuts and spend an afternoon reading and drinking their free coffee :)comfy armchair to sit in as well :):)

Its the car's first MOT, and I change it in June so its not too much of a problem and it will be nice to know its all in good condition for my journey north. Looking forward to having a grandchild free week with my oldest friend as she is as well as her DD had three year old twins whom she helps to look after. We have a spring break every year and it does us both good .her OH spend a lot of time away with his job so we have a great week knitting, nattering ,reading and visiting stately homes etc as we are both history nuts

Right time to get a wriggle on Have a good day chums what ever you are doing

Afternoon ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

We were away early this morning, Diesel in the car, Morrison and Lidl and then into the new store which has opened next door to Lidl for a look round. I bought some greaseproof cake tin liners.

Home to get lunch. OH is bowling tonight, so decided to eat at lunchtime. Will do him a poached egg for his tea.

It was quite warm in the car, the sun seems to have gone in just now. the ground is really dry, we are going to have to do a massive water tomorrow.

Started to fill a crate with stuff to take away with us, get into trouble if I do not 'tick off' on the list..........

    Afternoon all
Managed to get to H*lfords this morning for some T cut, as we lot of tiny scratches on the car.
Called in DD's to collect my carpet cleaner and spent a few hours cleaning the caravan carpets ready to take over tomorrow and some house rugs ( just to finish up the liquid ). They are now all on the patio drying in the sun.
Dad is coming for tea tonight and we will have gammon, mushrooms, corn on the cob and jacket potato or chips. Followed by some vienetta ice cream or a mivi ( sp? ) lollipop :). We know how to live the high life ! :rotfl:
Hugs to everyone who wants or needs one.
    Enjoy the rest of Wednesday.
Dumpling - I would have asked my friend to take her dog outside if it was jumping up on me.

The nasty morning turned into a not bad day, no rain again since early on but now turning a bit chilly.

Truculent teens were not so bad today after I reminded them that they only had six weeks to get their work finished. Then I spent most of the two hours talking to another member of staff about a couple of 'areas of concern' I had! She was very sympathetic, confirmed that others had the same concerns, including her, and my talking about them would bring these to a head. :j Can't stand unprofessionalism but it's a bit difficult when I'm the newbie to the team. Hey ho... done!

Cleaner has been and left downstairs sparkling. Postie has been and left a pile of 'stuff' which I'll now plough through. We're going out for a bar meal tonight which will be lovely - though I could do with an early night after all the disturbances last night. Came home to find the radio blaring in my room again, must have been another power cut and the daughter of my friend didn't have the sense to turn the radio off. :(

I've finished converting the cassette tapes to mp3 so will post them off down south tomorrow. There's a couple more precious tapes at DM's which I'll have a go at when next with her.

I hope that everyone managed a peaceful day.

Dumpling, it's good to hear your DD is feeling brighter.

TA, we went to Skipton this morning and it was heaving, DH wanted some sand from the builder's merchant.

I had a long chat with DS, he is a bit down because he is experiencing a few health problems, probably fairly minor, although one could have serious implications. He's also got a dental appointment lasting 90 minutes this afternoon. At least he's told work that he doesn't want to return to Birmingham after his stint of working there ends in a couple of weeks.

I also heard from DD who is in Portugal, they seem to be having a good time but she was tired so I hope they get a bit more time to relax. She gets back on Friday but then flies to Waco in Texas on Monday for work. She's too young to remember why Waco is notorious. I don't know why she's going, probably to visit a distillery.

I've been doing a bit of cleaning because we have visitor's arriving tomorrow for a couple of days. They want to go across to Fountain's Abbey on Friday which is fine by us.

Dumpling - I would have asked my friend to take her dog outside if it was jumping up on me.
Just my twopenn'orth, but personally I think the dog should be attending training classes; certainly should have learned basic "sit" and "stay" and be able to do them. It's not the dog's fault - if he's never been taught what's acceptable, he can't be expected to know - but bringing him to someone else's house and just letting him run riot is totally unacceptable imho.

We have another Staffie booking for later in the year - she came for her meet'n'greet visit, and settled down quietly so very quickly that her owner asked me if I was a Dog Whisperer! :rotfl:
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
