Root Beer

Does anybody know of any stores in the U.K that sell Root Beer?
At the moment my options seem to be buying in bulk online or visiting one of the stores near an American base (none near me).

I tried it on holiday and loved it...an acquired taste though I think!

Occassionally Sainsbury's do "American Root Beer" , as they call it, in a 2 lt bottle - and I can't for the life of me remember the brand but they also sometimes stock a 6 pack of the same brand in tins. I sometimes have seen it in the large Tesco too. My other half loves it so I stock up whenever I see it.

When MacDonald's first opened in the UK, root beer was on the menu but it soon disappeared.

I'd forgotten about McDonalds doing it....I used to love getting it from there as a child.

I'll give the larger branches of Sainsbury & Asda a go!!

I lurve the taste of sasparrilla (sp?) too but I've only ever had sweets of that flavour. Does anyone know where you can buy it?

For Sarsaparilla, you can check on Mawson's website as they have a list of stockists (luckily I can get myself to the Temperence Bar in lovely Rawtenstall) the website address is http://www.sarsaparilla.co.uk/

As far as delicious root beer goes (liquid germolene it definetely is) I've bought it from sainsburys but you can get A&W root beer from https://www.americansoda.co.uk

Heya, i bought some in Asda a couple of weeks ago...thought i'd give it a go...kind of wish i hadnt now _pale_ hehe. Each to their own! Its kind of like liquorice :rolleyes:

I love the american stuff but there's no way I'd pay those import prices (24 tins for £14.99 + P&P!) - I'll stick with Carters (from ASDA) at £1.19 for 6.
