Easter eggs are chocolate in expensive packaging. Even when discounted check against the cost of bars of the same chocolate.

Hotel Chocolat, lovely chocolate but still expensive at half price.
  • We were going to go into Birmingham and see if we could find a good Hotel Chocolat egg, but as we were passing out local Thorntons on the way to the station, I spotted a mint egg reduced to £4. It seemed like most of the eggs in Thorntons had quite good reductions.

Waitrose are always a good bet for picking up premium Easter eggs in the sale.

Most supermarkets sold out on their best offer eggs on Friday.

My work - very similar to Wilko and Home Bargains only has Lindt bunnies, Cadbury Egg n Spoon, various bags of mini eggs - Lindor, Milky Bar etc and Galaxy eggs (same size as Creme Egg) left. Sold out of the normal eggs at Saturday lunchtime. I then found an egg dumped in the towels - not damaged. Put it by the entrance and the first customer coming in after I put it there picked it up.

We always have this, despite ordering more in

Sainsbury's in Hastings had some Easter eggs down to half price today - not a very grand selection but 'every little helps' - as one of its rivals would say.

They have other posh ones as well inc. G&B (Regent St branch)
Fortnum and Mason have 50% off their own Eater eggs and other bits
Selfridges have some at half price
M&S also have a few offers on theirs but most were still at full price
    Nice to save.
