FTB Halifax Mortgage - worried!

Hi All,

Another worried FTB here looking for some reassurance/advice.

We have just got a DIP with Halifax and will proceeding with the full application shortly. My only worries are that i have had some adverse credit in the past.

Here are our details:
House Value: 220k
Deposit: 15%
Salary: me 25k, partner 27k
Outstanding credit - nothing for me and a loan with £100p/m payments for my partner.
Adverse credit - 1 satisfied default for £350 from August 2012. Also 17 payday loan (only 5 showing on Experian...) all over 4 years old.

Does anyone think we have a chance or have been in a similar situation? I can't sleep for worrying!

Also,do Halifax use all of the credit agencies or just Experian?

Thanks!

using a broker will maximise your chance of placing your history with a suitable lender.

Any particular reason you chose Halifax?

  • I am in a very similar situation and also worried sick!

We went with Leeds with the first house we had an offer accepted on (fell through though!). They were awful, wanted to know everything except your blood type. Constantly asking about things and asking for more documents. Then just had a mortgage offer with NatWest and it seemed like they just glanced at our application. It went so easy. Partner was asked for an additional 3 payslips as gets a shift allowance and that's it! Crazy easy. We were so worried after the Leeds application, would highly recommend. You can even track on their website where your application is up too. Needless to say I lived on their website
