Any tips for taking away smoke type smell from wooden beech unit?

I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes, best of luck. After the onion treatment will you go for essential oils or some other fragrance?
Do you think febreze would help?
Not sure what to try after that lol maybe essential oil but I think the strong smell is in the wood0 -
Neither are 'quick fixes' - I've had the onion halves in the car since last Saturday, they're fairly much dried out now: I'll probably go again on Sunday/Monday even though there's no discernable odour just in case there's something lurking.0

Just thought I'd update and say that Zoflora done the trick! Diluted it with water in spray bottle and sprayed the unit, let it dry, sprayed again and thankfully now it's smelling good!0
