  • if you holiday year is Jan to Dec and only taken a week.

    Take the full year maternity you will have over 8 weeks to take before the end of next year, 1/2 the time left.

    How they going to cope with your prenatal/sick time off before maternity?

    looks like they need to review their recruitment strategy as the current one is failing.

    I doubt they are sitting on their hands.

    And if there is alot of holiday left to take then either the OP and employer come to an agreement to use some of it in the unpaid part of maternity or the employer forces some of it to be used immedialty after returning...not ideal but not a massive issue on their part.
    Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked
