Should I return new slow cooker?

Well I decided to replace my 3.5 litre slow cooker and have bought the Morphy Richards sear and stew one, mainly because of the lightness of it, I don't really sear meat on the hob first.
However, now I am wondering if I would be better off with a 1.5 litre slow cooker. My friend says that size would be better for me living on my own. As I said in my previous post I mainly cook chicken and soup in it and don't freeze chicken, I cook and eat it, sometimes I do mince aswell and would freeze that. Is it worth keeping the bigger one just incase I want to freeze something?
Just been looking at the reviews for the one I have online and they are glowing so I am sort of tempted to keep it.

Speaking as somebody who is only ever feeding one, I looked at size and realised that a 3.5 litre is the only one that will cook, say, a whole turkey breast joint (800g in foil) at Xmas, as well as fitting all the ingredients for anything I was making without having to skimp on opening/tipping in another tin.
If you go smaller you'll find you want to make stuff, but run out of room to fit it in.
With a 3.5l you've got the option of using an "insert" bowl or bag or something to cook less - but when a smaller SC is filled to the gills with mince and beans and onions you'd be annoyed you can't add just one more big ingredient and it's running the risk of all spilling over.
I'd never buy smaller than 3.5l ....0 -
I have a large slow cooker that has been reliable for years.
Long story - I acquired a small one, and thought 'oh good, for when there's just 2 of us'. However, I find that it cooks so much quicker that I have to adjust all my recipes.0 -
I have a small 1.5 litre one and it is just the right size for me. There is enough room for two portions if I want to cook extra and freeze it. My freezer is too small to be cooking and freezing more than that.
If I was cooking for more people, I wouldn't use the slow cooker anyway so a bigger one would just take up unnecessary space.
Works for me, anyway. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I use my large one with roasting bags, that way you can make a few different meals at the same time, hope this helps you decide xRIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Brilliant. Thank you!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D
