Off the back of the yucky loo seat...

Options
I have three boys (four, counting the husband!) and the 'rim' for want of a better word, above where the water comes out is stained with wee.

What's the best way of cleaning it? Tried bleach but that doesn't seem to work.

Thank you!

    :rotfl:An apt user name for the situation,:rotfl:

    Have you tried Harpic the limescale remover, I try all sorts to remove stains and limescale and always go back to this.

    Get the culprits to scrub it with some kind of multisurface cleaner and a nylon scourer. And then tell them to aim properly in future or they'll be doing it again...

    :rotfl::rotfl: Thanks JIL!
    I'll have a go with that.

    Thanks Greenbee.
  • I'm following this for any suitable hints right now.

    My (pretty new) loo seat has gone more than a little worse for wear. There are brown type markings on it now and I can even see some blue type markings on this (cue for puzzled smilie).

    It seems more than a little wasteful to have to replace an adequately functioning loo seat for another that might only have the same thing again happen to it...

    The stains you are seeing are probably stained limescale and not stained porcelain so you need to remove the limescale. Bleach won't do that.

    I use Kilrock gel as it clings to vertical surfaces better than liquids. There are other brands such as Harpic mentioned above.

    I bought my DD some harpic limescale remover as she has four lads plus a husband whose aims are all a bit off :) but it is more limescale than anything else and left on overnight it usually shifts it
