Re-mortgage now retired.

Our fixed term is due to end 31st august 2018, we retired a few weeks ago.
My questions are should we and CAN we renew a fixed term now we are retired. We have the money to pay off the mortgage but don't want to incur penalties. So we will be investing this money but we will get a better rate if we can invest for a few years. The monthly payments are no problem from our pension. And do we need to inform the mortgage company.
Any help will be much appreciated.

The chances are you will be able to do an online product switch with your existing lender without any further credit or income checks required, presuming that you have a capital and interest mortgage.

In terms of retirement and this process, it only really has an impact when you plan on retiring during the remaining term, not when you have already retired.
