Gladstones and DRP chasers(told to start new threads)

Options
Hello,

I have recently ignored a PCN (Parking Charge Notice) in Bournemouth. I parked in a car park for a hotel. I received a letter through the post a month or so after the incident telling me i owe them money, after that I then had a copius amounts of threatening letters from them, after that i then had a debt collecting company called DRP chase me. Advice from a friend and also when researching it i was told to ignore these letters chasing this PCN as it is basically an invoice chasing you for parking on private land without permission.

My question to you is, do you know what to do if i have recently received a solicitors letter from Gladstones Solicitors on behalf of UK Car park management chasing an outstanding balance that DRP had been chasing me for prior? Do i pay this? Or do i carrying on ignoring these letters? This letter has come a couple of months after DRP had stopped chasing me. I have a letter that is from a "Solicitor" who tell me not to send anything to them, only to contact DRP themselves. I have researched this and it may seem that this is another scare tactic they use to make people pay up, as they are still chasing for the PCN for the private company.

I am under the impression that it is only the private car park that can actually take you to court not the Debt Collector etc.

However it doesnt say anywhere on it that it is a LBCC etc. Should i be worried?

Thanks

Please see the NEWBIES FAQ thread ... this tells you everything you need to know.

As you've been ignoring, you continue to do so until and unless you receive an actual Letter Before Claim* or actual Court claim papers. Again, all explained in the NEWBIES FAQ.

*Anything that says to pay a debt collector is not an LBC.

That's still a debt collector letter do the 'ignore the debt collector' advice applies at the moment. If it is UKCPM then you might get a claim in the end but you might now - if you do, Gladstones court claims are defendable and we haven't seen one lost yet, in a year...
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
