Halifax AIP chance of it being declined?

Hi all,

I am having a panic. Me and the OH are buying a home together, he already owns a property which he is renting out. We went together and got an AIP for 235k and our joint credit score was A1 which cant be better! We are just waiting for confirmation on his salary from his new job so we can finish off our full application. Now my worry is that 5 years ago I had money issues and was late with a couple of credit card payments and store card payments etc and took out a few short term loans. I never defaulted on anything, i got it all sorted anf payment plans etc put in before that stage and i have been on time with payments for everything for 5 years now. I spoke to our mortgage advisor who says not to worry as nothing nasty came up when she did our credit check but i cant help but panic that our full application will be rejected! It is actually making me sick with worry! Can anyone relate or share their experience?
Thanks!

We get far worse cases than yours past Halifax every day of the week.

Try not to worry too much. You will probably be fine. If it did decline for any reason there would still be other options.

We are FTBs and have also been finding the process stressful. We had an AIP from Halifax and put in full application. We passed all initial checks but received a decline last week. Our broker doesn’t seem too concerned and has now put a full application in with Natwest. We should still hit all our deadlines.
