I have a friend who is travelling with her family tomorrow ( 12.4.17 ) by train. She has just bought a Family and Friends ticket online with an email receipt. The card wont arrive before tomorrow .
Could she buy tickets to travel tomorrow using Family and Friends prices but just show the email proving she has purchased one.
thanks

No, she needs the card.0
-
She would need to buy one at the station before travel (and possibly cancel the online order if this can be done) for the ticket to be valid.0

She must physically have the card with her at the time of travelling.
An email showing the purchase will not do.
Railcard discounted tickets can be bought before the railcard is available, either online or at a ticket machine, but the buyer may have difficulties at a manned ticket office.0
