Removal of a big piece of furniture from south to north of England

Not really sure where to ask or how to go about this. I want to move a large heavy oak wardrobe from the south to the north west of England. Collection/drop off is def a 2-person job. As long as it can be removed from the house in the south quite quickly, delivery up north can be delayed until convenient.

I had thought of hiring a van and asking my son in law and a friend to do it but by the time I'd paid for the van, petrol, overnight stay, food etc etc, it would be really expensive. I imagine the same would apply to man-with-van companies too.

Are there other ways of doing this more cheaply? Thanks
