Belfast or Lisburn to Giants Causeway

Hello all, My Boyfriend and I live in Northern Ireland, we have a car but it is just a small runaround to get him to work and back really, I have family coming to visit us in two weeks and they have mentioned going to see the Giants Causeway, with all of us together there will be 5 of us and we will not all fit in the car.

I am trying to work out the cheapest way for us all to get to the Giants Causeway from either Belfast or Lisburn, returning on the same day. Translink have told me to get an ilink card for £16.50 but when I went to book it on the link they sent to me I did not see Giants Causeway in the drop down list, our other options would be train, coach, or rent a car. Anyone have any ideas on what would work out cheapest?

Thanks :)

With five of you, I'd rent a car.

rent a car then either park at Portballintrae and walk round coastal path (if its a nice day) or park at Bushmills and get shuttle bus to causeway -Id avoid parking at Causeway unless you want to pay a clean fortune on parking charges!

Yes, check the other thread just down the list about parking at the causeway. 10.50 per PERSON. That gets you into the visitor centre, but you can just walk past for free.
I started out with nothing......And still have most of it left:p
  • Thank You all, I didn't reply until now because I have been waiting on family getting back to me! They have now decided they do not want to go, they were under the impression we could drive them all there but there is no chance of us all fitting into a clio, I found a few websites where it would have been around £25 each for a coach down there but they don't want to spend that much per person to get there as they are only bringing a limited amount of money with them and they would not have enough for all the other things the want to do, Thanks for the replies anyway.

Not quite the same, but they could at least 'have a look,' via a virtual tour:
