Circumstances to change- FTB

I'm a first time buyer with a good salary at present which I will have up until September. I am going to university in September and want to buy a house to live in once I'm there. I contacted a mortgage advisor today to see if I legally HAVE to declare this change in circumstance when applying for a mortgage (which I would do before my salary decreases) but she just said it's a grey area and I couldn't get a mortgage on a student loan. That isn't what I was asking, I was asking if I legally have to declare it. If not, I won't as I know I can afford repayments (I will triple check this depending on what they are) as I will have a good part time job at uni and my student loan covers it anyway, with spare. Can anyone shed any light? Obviously my main worry is breaking the law or getting black marks as I wouldn't take a mortgage out if worried about repayments anyway. Thanks!

If the lender asks if you are aware of any impending changes to your circumstances you have to declare it. As far as I am aware they all ask something along those lines.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
