Thanks so much for all your info fish. Have walked by Elliotts and it looks as if it is hopping. Have been to Tam a shanter. Going to take him to the electric brae too as it is quite amazing when you first see it. He loves castles (His mum in Welsh what do you expect lol) so going to take him to them too. Any bogofs for Edinburgh castle or anything in Edinburgh or surrounding areas, anyone know?
Also there's Dundonald Castle (in Dundonald, lol). We were there last weekend and enjoyed it. It's not a big castle, more like a ruin really, but the entrance is only £2.50. The guy there does a guided tour as well and is very entertaining (including a dodgy Edgar Allan Poe connection).

If he's into castles, try Dean Castle in Killie, as mentioned before. It's free entry and if you get one of the guys to do a guided tour (free!) it's pretty good. I think it's only open Fri-Sun in the winter though.

Taffy - you could take him up to Glasgow and you can do Kelvingrove art gallery and the Police Museum too. I love Arran but it's quite expensive to take the car across and I'm not sure if everything is open in December so I'd check before I went. There's some lovely walks there though.Mortgage OP 2025 £6000/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000
