Oyster and 16-25 Railcard

Nephew bought an Oyster card and with the help of a very helpful TfL guy 'loaded' his 16 - 25 railcard onto the Oyster on a machine at the station. He's set up an oyster online account but nowhere on the account can he see anything that says his 16-25 is there? Are we missing something - how do we confirm the 16-25 is loaded on the Oyster?

They will be able to confirm.
My understanding is that the Oyster card only holds an indicator showing that it is linked to a railcard and therefore a discount should be applied. It does not hold information on which type of railcard it is linked with. The Oyster card also holds the expiry date of the railcard.
Remember that the railcard must always be carried when travelling with a railcard discounted Oyster card.0 -
Unfortunately no customer-facing screen confirms there is railcard discount loaded to the card. Just check the price is lower when travelling off -peak (should be £1.60 for a zone 1-2 journey instead of £2.40). Off peak excludes 4pm to 7pm and before 9:30am. If the price isn't the lower one then ask a memeber of staff to check on the machine again.0
