Is this normal for existing customers 8+ years - surprised none of my credit files have a search?

We're both clearly at similar stages of property buying - yes fd haven't touched either credit file0

I had the same credit check absence on a credit card application with them. The application was a month ago so for me it can be an update question. When did you get your offers?0

I have a Sole First Direct account for 20 years now.
If I make a joint mortgage application would likely to do a credit check on that?0 -
no idea - ive been a customer for approx. 10 years and they didn't credit check my mortgage and I am due to complete end of month0

Funnily enough, I was speaking to a HSBC mortgage advisor today, who explained that they don't do credit checks on customers who have current accounts with them. This may appear to confirm it?0

Ahhh right that's interesting - no wonder they are selective then!0

Does this exemption from credit searches by HSBC/FD only apply if its your main account.
My main account is with HSBC (i.e. direct debits, pay etc) – but like many people I just have FD and M&S accounts for their 5% regular saver (and credit cards).
Saying that they are still amongst the strictest lenders – although their mortgage calculators imply they are one of the most generous in terms of income multiples.0 -
Yes I think it does - I have never been credit searched by First Direct or HSBC in years even though I've increased overdrafts/had credit cards etc.0
