Hi guys,
I started work with a company 6weeks ago, at the time of my interview I told them about a holiday I had booked and how long it was for and they had no problem with it, I came back off my holiday to be told I am sacked as it is not working- no other explanation or reason, can they do this? Do I have a leg to stand on? I had no complaints about my work at all before this and as far as I was aware I was doing good at my job?

Sadly yes they can.
With less than two years service you can be dismissed for any reason (except certain types of unlawful discrimination) or no reason at all. They do not even have to give an explanation.
However, as you have worked there for over a month, they must give you a week's notice (or pay in lieu) unless your contract specifies more.0 -
Alternatively as you may owe them money if they paid you for your annual leave but you hadn't accrued enough yet0

Why do you think this is related to your holiday? That may be a red herring.
Unfortunately they can dismiss you - perhaps try to speak with your manager and say something like "I'm was really sorry to hear that it hasn't worked out for me.... Please could you give me a bit of feedback to help me understand what I needed to do differently so I can learn from this and move on".
Then consider the feedback and onwards and upwards.:hello:0
