Livelongandprosper, to be honest I am not into elbow grease, with working full-time and having an eight year old, I'm trying to simplify and be realistic at the same time!

I think the aim is good value, and recognising my time has a value too :) . Which microfibre cloths do you use? I got a four pack from home bargains this afternoon x

I have a squirty bottle of diluted washing up liquid, that cleans everything. I have a bottle of the cheapest bleach for the toilets.

Me too. A bit of washing powder in a bucket of water does floors.

And lots and lots of little plastic scrubby sponges.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

I use ecloths - I have the kitchen, bathroom, shower and glass packs and also the mop. Only need water, no chemicals and still antibacterial.

I have washing up liquid which I use for 'mucky' stuff, which isn't often. Dishwasher tablets.

We also have a bottle of method kitchen spray for spills.

The only other things I have are a bottle of bleach and some dispersible antibac toilet wipes for young man's aim errors!! :D

    I don't use much at all -

    Cif in the bathrooms
Mr Muscle oven cleaner on the oven
Antibac spray on the kitchen worktops
    Domestos for loos and drains.
    Fairy liquid for everything else.

    I never use furniture polish.

I have an old housemaid's box that belonged to my grandmother (who was a housemaid). She used it for storing shoe-cleaning materials, but I use it for my dusters and cleaning materials, and carry it around when I'm cleaning. With a 4 storey house, you really don't want to get up to the attic bathroom and realise the Cif is in the basement utility room...
No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...

I make my own multi purpose cleaning spray and clean virtually every surface in the house with it, except for the bath/shower/ toilet. For them I use Aldi all purpose cleaner and bleach. If anyone is interested, the spray is made by filling a spray bottle with water then add a squirt of washing up liquid, 10 drops of lemon, rosemary & vanilla essential oils. It smells beautiful and and is anti bacterial/ antiviral and cleans surfaces brilliantly! Just make sure to give it a shake before each use to disperse all the ingredients. I also make a spray without the washing up liquid and use as an air freshener :D
