Default in 2012...how likely CCJ?

Hi.
I had a loan in default for around £6K default in 2012.
Long story short I took the money to go travelling with when was much younger.
However, I'm now willing to face up to it.
However, I've not heard from the bank since 2012 as my address was overseas.
Granted this was 5 years ago and I right to presume they won't be in contact with me again given so was long ago and I'd have to make a move?
Thanks.

So far so good then, it's usually in the last 12 months before a debt becomes statute barred that legal action is most likely.
I wouldn't like to advise your next move to be honest, if you want to pay it, then get in touch with them.

Thing was my last address with them was based in. Spain anyhow... that address is also showing under that default on my credit file.
Possibly would the fact they think I am in Spain would of stopped them bothering?0 -
I'll stick my neck out and say leave it alone.
Are you in Scotland by any chance?
When do you think you made the last payment to this? The default generally lags behind the last payment date by 3-6 months but can be much longer.
Even under England/Wales law, a last payment in March 2011 would mean it's statute barred already.0 -
About maybe march 2012 I paid last....0

The prospect of enforcing a debt abroad could make them think twice about whether it’s worth the extra hassle and the potential financial outlay.
Did you update your credit file with your current address in England when you checked it? That could link your file to where you are now if so.
