Got taxed earlier in the year?

Hi, I've been taxed earlier this year for around £300/400. I've only earnt £7000 this tax year, how do i get it back now the tax year has ended?

    Your best bet is to contact HMRC they can discuss it with you and make any necessary changes at the same time

    I did mine online recently.


    Signed up to the HMRC Government Gateway and put a claim in on there. I had a response within just a few days it was actually very efficient.

    Hi thanks both for the reply, i don't need to adjust anything as im guessing it's as I'm only on £300 a month but they calculated i was going to earn more as i got £1000 3 months in a row. But thanks for the advice I'll give them a call or use that website you've linked me. Thanks

    A thought - are you working from your final payslip or P60? Does your final statement confirm that you actually paid tax in the last tax year?

    Just before you contact them, look at ALL your payslips and double check you haven't been refunded this tax already through the PAYE system.
    Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
